1. Harry the Dirty Dog by Gene Zion.

Harry is a white dog with black spots who hates to take a bath.  One day he gets so dirty he has black fur with white spots!  Uh oh… where’s Harry?

 

2. Go Dog Go by PD Eastman.

Life lessons? Romance? Literary instruction? Go, Dog. Go! offers all this and more, wrapped up in one simply worded, warmly hued package.
